Set up block optimization

XPS uses a variety of factors to determine which move is the best one to dispatch to a given ASC. The first step is to build a list of available moves, which takes into account scheduled load times, conflicts with a paired ASC, and other factors that may prevent a move from being performed.

When XPS has compiled a list, it tests various combinations of move orders to determine which solution is the optimal one, such as 1-2-3, 1-3-2, 2-1-3, 2-3-1, 3-1-2, and 3-2-1. XPS gives each combination a score, based on the amount of time it takes to complete the moves in the given order. The lowest score wins.

With the ASC Optimizer parameters, you can modify the time-based score with various penalties or bonuses. This takes into account factors that are external to simple ASC movements, such as vessel schedules, road truck appointments, and reefer power requirements.
